Lady Diana has always held a special place in people's hearts. Her kindness, her warmth, and the way she connected with others left a mark on the world. Today, Grévin is honoring her legacy by welcoming her statue into the museum.

A SYMBOLIC INAUGURATION

It is no coincidence that Lady Diana's statue was unveiled on 20 November. Exactly 30 years ago, on this date, Lady Diana sat down for her famous BBC interview. For the first time, she spoke openly and sincerely about her personal life - a moment that chnaged the way the public saw her. Her now-legendary line, "We were three in this marriage, so it was a bit crowded", is still remembered today.

Although the interview caused controversy behind the scenes, it remains one of the most impactful TV moments of the past century.

For her statue, Grévin chose the iconic Revenge dress : the black, off-the-shoulder dress she wore the evening after Prince Charles publicly admitted his infidelity. It was bold, elegant, and completely unexpected. That night, the dress became a symbol of confidence and freedom, and it still representes that moment of women empowerment today.

AN EXCEPTIONAL LIFE

What made Diana truly unforgettable wasn't just her sense of style, it was the way she cared for others. She helped break the stigma surrounding AIDS and leprosy by meeting and touching patients at a time when many were afraid to. Those simple gestures changed public perception and gave dignity back to people who were often rejected.

She also supported the causes that mattered to her most: homeless youth, sick children, and victims of landmines. She used her voice to shine a light on those who rarely had one, and she did it with genuine compassion.

Even today, Diana - often called the "People's Princess" - continues to inspire. Artists, designers, and activists still look to her for inspiration, wheather for her courage, her empathy or her timeless elegance.

In Grévin workshops...

Many months of research and work were necessary to reproduce her outfit identically and to capture her unique expression as closely as possible.

The statue of Lady Diana, sculpted by Laurent Mallamaci and created by the Grévin creative workshops, will take its place under the museum's dome, an iconic space dedicated to fashion, where icons such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Marie Antoinette, Chantal Thomass and Beyonce rub shoulders.
