Meeting with Leonardo da Vinci
Exceptional encounters: from Mozart to Leonardo da Vinci!
Amid the Grévin’s dazzling decors, take your class for a fascinating trip through time, meeting over 250 famous figures along the way.
Ranging from Jean de la Fontaine to Scrat of the Ice Age, Mozart to Tony Parker, Louis XIV to Nolwenn Leroy, the Grévin is both a 3D history book and a reflection of our times.
The Discovery Tour
The Grévin reveals all the secrets of fashioning waxworks. See how a figure is born, sculpted and costumed. Enjoy an exceptional privilege, touch the wax, the resin, the eyes and hair, the fabrics, recognise the aroma of hot wax and oil paints.
Did you know?
The birth of a wax figure uses the work of fifteen artists: sculptor, moulder, makeup, costume ... Measurements, photos and videos are taken at the first appointment with the celebrity, no detail is left to chance. Six months later, the day of the final confrontation at the inauguration, the resemblance must be eerily perfect.
- As many as 500,000 hairs may be needed for one head.
- Every year the workshop uses 100kg of wax, 70 tubes of oil paint for make-up and 5km of sewing thread!
